If Cathy won, she would give Jim a makeover and he would have to go to prom with her brother who needed a date. However, if Jim won, she would go to prom with Jim instead of her boyfriend. Jim was sure that the Bengals would win, and Jim wanted to go to prom with her so bad, so Jim didn't even think twice about accepting the bet. Surely enough the Bengals lost, and realization set in for Jim. Jim was still a man of his word though, so on the day of prom he went to Cathy's house, and she made him over.
